MCYFL COVID – 19 PROTOCOL

 

MCYFL reserves the right to amend the following guidelines as necessary to adhere to the most current recommendations provided by state and local authorities.

 


FOOTBALL COVID-19 PROTOCOL 


All coaches shall inform each parent about guidelines for the 2020 season.


Any coach, parent or football player that has symptoms of an illness shall not report to practice or game. This includes but not limited to fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, nausea and/or vomiting. If the football player has seen a doctor, he/she must present a doctor's note to continue any practice or game.  Any doctor notes must be submitted to a league director for approval to resume practice or game.


At any on site football sign-up coaches, parents, and players will be required to follow safe social distancing per CDC guidelines and league guidelines at all times including 6 foot distancing will be in place at all times entering a building and hand sanitizer will be provided at a table prior to entering any MCYFL building.  During any sign-up, 1 coach only per team will be able to enter after sanitizing to hand in any sign-up form.  1 parent with a child (player) will be able to enter any MCYFL building for the purpose of signing-up and weighing in procedures.  At no time shall there be more than 10 people inside any given room.  Each Board member should wear a cloth face covering per CDC recommendations.  Hand sanitizer will be available at all work zones.  All board members working will be required to use hand sanitizer when assisting parents and football players. Any pens used for applications will be cleaned with disinfectant wipes between use.


All equipment: 


Helmets, Shoulder Pads, Inserts will be sanitized with Kilzone Cleaner & Disinfectant.  1 gallon of Kilzone will make 213.33 gallons ready to use.  Kilzone is effective against more than 60 types of bacteria, viruses and mold.  Product is recommended for multi-purpose use, including weight, locker, equipment and training rooms.  MCYFL will post Kilzone Advantage on its website for all participants to read.  No more than 10 players will be allowed in the equipment room during sizing of helmets and shoulder pad fitting.  Each player will be required to use hand sanitizer prior to entering the equipment building.  All parents will be required to remain outside using social distancing guidelines.


Practice and Games:


Any football player(s) or coach that has symptoms of an illness shall not participate in practice or attend a game. This includes but not limited to fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, nausea and/or vomiting. If the football player is sick the absence shall not be punitive.


Football coaches will be recommended that they follow CDC guidelines to wear face coverings during practices and games.  Football coaches will recommend all parents to use safe guidelines of social distancing during practices and games.  MCYFL will provide each parent for the 2020 season guidelines to disinfect all league equipment after each practice and game.  All coaches and football players must provide his/her own water bottle for practices and games.  Sharing of water bottles will no longer be permitted.  Players will not share equipment.  All coaches must sanitize all equipment, including footballs after each practice.  Guidelines will be provided by Marion County Youth Football and in accordance with CDC.  Each coach shall provide hand sanitizer for all players and parents during practice and games.


Football Games & Camps:


Any football player that has symptoms of an illness shall not participate in football camp. This includes but not limited to fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, nausea and/or vomiting. If the football player is sick a refund shall be requested.


All board members and volunteers should wear cloth face coverings. There will be no seats available for parents at the tables. All pens used by parents shall be cleaned in between use with disinfectant wipes. Hand sanitizer will be available at the table.


On the field all participants shall practice social distancing and be positioned 6 feet apart.

Sharing of water bottles will not be permitted at any time.  Any demonstrations used during a camp; the instructor must use social distancing for all participants. All parents, grandparents, spectators must follow social distancing of 6 ft for any camp and football games.  Parents, grandparents, spectators that use MCYFL stands will always be required to practice social distancing by seating 6ft apart.  There will be no leaning on any fence during practices or games at Marion County Youth Football at any time.  MCYFL will ask for all spectators to follow CDC guidelines, face covering, and social distancing.
